Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Alicia is a pediatric occupational therapist who has been working in pediatrics for 15 years. She received her Masters of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Milligan College. She is a pediatric specialist through NBCOT and a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association. Alicia has extensive experience in school based pediatric work throughout Southwest Virginia. She has a strong education background with an education undergraduate degree from King College. Alicia has worked with the Early Intervention population for the past 12 years and feels passionate about the significant gains that can be fostered when families are educated and empowered. Alicia has experience working with children and families facing challenges due to:  Autism Spectrum Disorders, Shaken Baby Syndrome, Genetic Disorders, Muscular Dystrophy, Failure to Thrive, NAS, Seizure Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, PICA, Down Syndrome, Prematurity, Fine Motor Delay, Vision, and Sensory Processing Disorder. She has specific training in ABA, Medical Management for Spasticity, Early Intervention Coaching, NDT, Handwriting without Tears Program, Auditory Listening Program, Kinesiotaping, CVI, Vision Strategies and Support, Sensory Integration Treatment, TEACCH program, and DIR Floortime.
