Pediatric Occupational Therapist Assistant
Kirsten is a board-certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) who is currently obtaining her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) through Belmont University in Nashville, TN. She received her Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy from Southwest Virginia Community College in May of 2016 with highest honors. She is licensed in both Virginia and Tennessee, and is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association. Kirsten entered the OT field with a passion for helping children and bringing much-needed occupational therapy services to children of the Appalachian region. Her passion for children has grown throughout her three years of experience, including with children aging in range from birth to eighteen. She has experience with a variety of diagnoses including: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Genetic Disorders, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Prematurity, Fine Motor Delay, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD, Developmental Delay, and Neurological/Orthopedic Disorders. Through her work as a COTA and education in the MSOT program, Kirsten desires to help each child reach his/her maximum potential through caring, individualized, and meaningful occupational therapy services.
